Baghdad – The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola’s visit in Iraq continues. The first meeting was in Baghdad with the Iraqi Minister of Transportation, Kadhim Finjan al-Hamami. At the heart of the talks were the projects launched by the Iraqi government for the modernisation of national infrastructures, from roads to railroads and harbours. The Undersecretary then visited Camp Dublin to greet Italian troops training Iraqi security and police forces with a particular focus on anti-terrorist techniques. A training activity that – with the approach of the final taking of Mosul – is proving to be of fundamental importance for the stabilisation of the liberated areas. Since 28 June 2015, the Carabinieri have trained more than 8,500 local and federal police units. Other 4000,000 Iraqis and about 800 Pashmerga were trained by constituents of other Italian forces engaged in training activities. (9Colonne)
