Brussels. The future of cohesion funds for the period following the current programming (2014-2020) will be at the centre of the meeting that the Governor of Tuscany, Enrico Rossi, will participate in today in Brussels with a delegation of Regional Representatives of CRPM (Conference on Peripheral Maritime Regions). A statement reads, at a very delicate moment in the Post 2020 negotiations and the future of regional funds, also due to uncertainties Brexit has opened, Rossi will take the opportunity to underline the added value of the policy of Cohesion in terms of investments generated in the territories. The difference between ESI (Structural Funds) and EFSI (Juncker Plan) will also be another point of discussion. “Along with other EU regions, all of the Competitiveness Objective, we will ask Commissioner Cretu to support a cohesion policy for the benefit of all the regions and not just the least developed,” said Rossi. Reducing these aids only for the convergence regions would be a major political mistake, which would steer Europe away from citizens”. (9colonne)
