Beijing – The Campania buffalo mozzarella enters the elite club of Europe in China and is the only Southern product to be included in the list of 26 Italian Dop and Igp brands that will be protected in the Asian country through a bilateral agreement to be concluded by 2017. The agreement was signed during the EU-China economic summit. The publication of the list opens the process to protect the main excellence of Made in Italy, from wine to cheese, from imitations and counterfeits. It is a preliminary and indispensable condition for launching promotional campaigns. “We are facing a key step forward to allow Campania buffalo mozzarella to embark on a market, the Chinese one, among the largest in the world, with a growing taste of the middle class for our product. For years we have been discussing this turnaround that opens up horizons and extraordinary growth margins for the near future”, stated Domenico Raimondo, Chairman of the Consortium of Protection.
