Beijing – The two ministerial sessions of Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM 8) and MI 2 (Mission Innovation) have been held in Beijing today, two processes that Italy has joined since the beginning. In the opening seminar of CEM 8, Undersecretary for Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, said: “We renew the commitment of the Italian government to the ISGAN initiative, a program on smart grids, where Italy is recognized in its technological first level role”. The undersecretary also confirmed the contribution of the additional $ 4 million made available by the Italian Ministry of the Environment for the ‘Global Leap’ initiative, which provides for the sharing among partners of knowledge and best practices for the development of Energy access systems, with particular reference to off-grid lighting and business support for market development for these technologies. He also announced Italy’s adherence to another important CEM activity, that of the Energy Management Campaign, a program to promote energy management in businesses through the ISO 50001 certification, where our country is at the forefront in Europe thanks to the energy diagnosis program launched in 2015 by MiSE.
