Tallin – The visit of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Italian House of Representatives in Estonia began this morning, aimed at meetings with the highest institutional offices and the visit of the Center for Nato Excellence on cyber security. The President of the Commission, Fabrizio Cicchitto, Lia Quartapelle, for the majority, and Gianluca Pini, for the opposition, attend the mission. The visit to Estonia is the result of an invitation from the Estonian Parliament, greatly interested in a substantial re-launch of relations between the two countries. The Italian delegation, also in view of the Estonia presidency of the EU, went to Tallinn to address geopolitical issues of common interest: the European integration process, the relationship with Russia, and the management of the migratory phenomenon. On this last point, the talks with the President of the Estonian Parliament and the Foreign Affairs Committee have highlighted Estonia’s commitment to accommodating refugees in a conscious exercise of solidarity and consistency with the criteria for EU and NATO membership.
