Reno. If we know how to move around the space around us we owe it to our hands which contain a map of the space around us, where the thumb is associated to our lower half and the index finger is associated to our top half. This was revealed by the study, “Standard body-space relations: fingers hold spatial information” recently published in the journal “Cognition” co-authored by Daniele Romano and Angelo Maravita, respectively research associate and Professor of Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology in the Department of Psychology of the University of Milan -Bicocca, in collaboration with Francesco Marini, former research fellow at the University of Milan and who is currently a post-doc researcher at the University of Reno (Nevada, United States).
