Beira. Saturday, June 17, was a day for celebration in Beira, Mozambique: at the Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM), 26 new doctors graduated thanks to the support of Doctors with Africa Cuamm. The great celebration involved students, friends, relatives, and teachers gathered for an important anniversary: 10 years of graduations in Beira during which nearly 300 doctors graduated from UCM. “At first it was a gamble” says Don Dante Carraro, director of Doctors with Africa Cuamm. Supporting a new faculty in its growth, working alongside Mozambican teachers, to provide the country with new doctors who are indispensable professionals, considering that in Mozambique there is only one doctor per 25,000 inhabitants, when in Italy we have one per 256. This decade therefore has a special meaning: it makes us think that we won the gamble. ” (9Colonne)
