Saint Paul – Enel Spa, through its subsidiary, Enel Green Power North America, Inc., started the solar photovoltaic power plant Aurora, 150 MWdc1, in Minnesota. Aurora is the largest plant in the North American solar portfolio of Enel. “The completion of Aurora is another key milestone in our continuous and solid growth in the US market,” said Rafael Gonzalez, head of Enel Green Power North America. “We are proud to participate in the growth of the Minnesota energy economy through maximizing the distributed solar model of industrial scale. This model, which we implement in the Aurora Solar System, consists in installing multiple small photovoltaic sites to provide renewable electricity to local communities across the state, enhancing our “open power” approach to provide energy access to people, new technologies and new uses. Aurora’s innovative design highlights how renewable sources are able to offer sustainable and reliable energy to local communities, combining significant environmental benefits with economic value. ” (9Colonne)
