Geneva. The Italian Giovanni Passaleva is the new spokesperson for LHCb international collaboration – one of the four major experiments of LHC, the CERN super accelerator in Geneva. Passaleva took office on July 1, after Guy Wilkinson’s mandate expired. In the past, another Italian was leading the LHCb, Pierluigi Campana, currently director of INFN’s National Laboratories of Frascati. Today Italy has two national spokespersons for the experiments of LHC: in addition to Passaleva, Federico Antinori who co-ordinates the collaboration of the ALICE experiment”.The LHCb collaboration will address a crucial period in the coming years – explains Giovanni Passaleva – because we are collecting the fruits of data collected so far, which are allowing us to publish results of absolute scientific significance”.
