La Valletta. “Tracce Indelebili” (Unerasable Traces) conference will be held today by the Italian Institute of Culture of La Valletta to present the works of Italian artist, Luciano Micallef. After a long period focused on realism, Luciano Micallef embarked on the path towards abstractionism. The essence of his work is based on strong and vibrant colours, as a gesture of optimism. His practice includes many graphic works, such as book covers and catalogues, posters, and stamps. He is also known for his numerous portraits, including that of emeritus president Edward Fenech Adami and his predecessor Guido De Marco, Luciano and Gilberto Benetton, Oliviero Toscani, Ornella Muti, Roberto Benigni and many others. Luciano Micallef has exhibited in many private museums and galleries in Europe, Asia, the United States, and Australia. (9Colonne)
