London. Leonardo welcomed the signing of the contract between NETMA (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency) and the Eurofighter consortium (BAE Systems, Leonardo, Airbus Defense & Space) for the upgrade of the “Pretorian” security system of the UK’s EurofighterTyphoon aircraft. The two-year contract worth €45 million euros (£ 40 million) envisages the modernisation of the system in line with new Royal Air Force operational requirements. The contract includes supply by Leonardo, the integration work carried out by BAE Systems, and the subsequent tests that will be carried out by the Ministry of Defense. The agreement is part of a continuous improvement of operational capabilities of identification and contrasting British Typhoon threats. (9Colonne)
