(July 24, 2017) Great success for the inaugural concert of the Bosnia Herzegovina Peace Orchestra, that performed at the opening of the Riva Music Festival in Riva del Garda, to which the new formation was invited to participate as Resident Orchestra. The event was attended by the Festival Artistic Director, Mietta Sighele, the Artist’s Artist Consultant, Maestro Mauro Maur, the Mayor of Riva del Garda, Adalberto Mosaner, and Ambassador of Italy in Sarajevo, Nicola Minasi, promoter and supporter of the initiative. The opening works, showed not only the artistic and cultural value, but also that political and symbolic of this project, emerged from the collaboration between the Bosnian Authorities, the Italian Embassy and the Riva Music Festival. The Peace Orchestra is in fact the first national musical formation in Bosnia and Herzegovina composed by musicians from the Orchestras and Conservatives throughout the country, in particular Sarajevo, Sarajevo East, Mostar, Banja Luka, Tuzla and Belgrade, Novi Sad and Maribor. In the hope that this experience allows to build friendships between young artists from different cities and countries – says a note from the Embassy in Sarajevo – Minasi highlighted the positive power that music is able to emanate. This wish was raised by Mayor Mosaner, who highlighted the political, peace-giving, initiative of the initiative at a crucial time in the history of the European Union. (Red)
