(July 25, 2017) The University of Udine is aiming for the East to enrich the students’ training path. The University is in China to promote and enhance the projects and relations of the University with the institutional, academic and entrepreneurial system of the Asian giant: in particular, the mission will enable the University to consolidate existing relationships, start new collaborations and To recalibrate the “Marco Polo Turandot” project aimed at bringing Chinese students closer to the higher education system in Italy. The delegation of the Friuli university is composed of Manuela Croatto, Head of the Department of Student Services and International Relations, and Ambra Collino, a Chinese language teacher at the University’s Language and Audiovisual Center. “The idea – says Croatto – was born out of the awareness that only the integrated approach, capable of combining institutional, academic, entrepreneurial and representation systems, can be a win in the globalized world we live in, especially if we look at a reality such as People’s Republic of China”. The University’s mission began in Beijing, with meetings with the Scientific Advisor of the Italian Embassy, Plinio Innocenzi, the Beijing Institute of Technology, the Communication University of China, the Monserrate Foundation where it met Friuli born Elisabetta Lenchig. Next steps were the cities of Jining, to meet the Savio company; Jinan, at Shandong University; Nanjing, Nanjing Agriculture University; Suzhou, Safilo and Danieli China, and finally Shanghai, where it was held the meeting with the Consul General, Stefano Beltrame, and the Scientific Assistant, Roberto Pagani, and the local Fogolar Furlan. “The meetings, useful and stimulating – emphasizes Croatto – added to the pleasant surprise of being able to find sitting at the same table as the University and some of his graduates now at the top of prestigious companies such as Loris Coianiz, managing director of Danieli Chinam and Alessandro Riva, Chief Financial Officer of Savio Textile Machines, without forgetting that the Fogolar Furlan in Shanghai is run by chairman Matteo Da Ros, along with Michelangelo Collinassi and Alessandro Raiser, all three engineers graduated from Udine. ” (Red)
