Mosul – “In order to address some of the most serious aspects of the humanitarian crisis affecting Iraq and the city of Mosul, we have provided, through the Italian Cooperation, a package of a total value of € 1.5 million in favor of displaced Iraqi people and Syrian refugees in the country”. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Angelino Alfano, specifying that the implementation of the interventions will be entrusted to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and to the UN Agency for Action against Mine (UNMAS). Specifically, the intervention of Italian Cooperation will help finance the implementation of multilateral initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the infant population and the remediation of mines and war residuals.
