Punta dell’Este – “The State Action against Organized Crime has achieved another important victory with the arrest in Punta del Este in Uruguay of Rocco Morabito, internationally wanted since 1994 and included in the list of the most dangerous fugitives, for being already convicted for trafficking and other serious offenses”. Thus stated the Italian Minister of the Interior, Marco Minniti, in a message in which he complimented with the head of the police, Franco Gabrielli, and the Commander General of the Carabinieri Army, Tullio Del Sette. “The arrest of Morabito, a prominent feature of Africo Nuovo mob and considered the most sought-after member of the ‘Ndrangheta, is the result of the excellent international investigation cooperation between the Uruguayan Police and the Italian Department of Public Safety, through their liaison officers which enabled the identification of the true identity of the fugitive, with the coordination of the Prosecutor of the Republic of Reggio Calabria.” (9colonne)
