Rome. An innovative IT tool to facilitate the acquisition of a visa to enter Italy was launched by the Directorate General for Italians Living Abroad and migratory politics of the Farnesina. The “Visa e-@application” project funded by the EU allows travellers to fill out an online visa application form, cutting back on paper work and increasing overall efficiency thanks to the reduction of typing errors and a greater accuracy and safety in data entry. “We intend to ultimately promote the Italian network through the VISA e-@application programme. It was envisioned primarily to favour the flow of investments and commerce, tourism, students, and researchers” according to the Director General Luigi Maria Vignali. (9colonne)
