Oslo. At the end of the 19th century in the slums of Buenos Aires, poverty and melancholy in a community of immigrants will be the push that will bring them to reunite giving life to evenings filled with music and dance. It is especially Italian immigrants who, fusing African, Montevidean, and Cuban influences, take the first steps towards dancing among people. It is the manifestation of a “sad thought to dance to”: the Tango. It is perhaps this concept that, through Astor Piazzola’s music, Simone Onnis strives to transmit during his concert on September 21st at the IIC of Oslo. (9colonne)
