Tirana – The presentation of the essay “Spanje Pipa. The urban song of Korça” (Squilibri, 2015) curated by Mikaela Minga and Nicola Scaldaferri, in the presence of the authors, will be held tomorrow evening in the library of the Italian Cultural Institute of Tirana.. The urban song of Korça is a refined tradition with the prevalence of a melodic vein, where Oriental and Balkan derivations are fused with Western-style sensitivity. Nicola Scaldaferri, ethnomusicologist at the University of Milan, deals with electroacoustic music and music practices in Southern Italy and the Balkans. For Squilibri he has published several works, among which, together with Stefano Vaja, “In the country of the cupa cupa. Sounds and images of the Lucan tradition “. (9colonne)
