New York. Italy on Screen Today, New York – the exhibition dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema – took place from October 19 to 22 during a period in which presence of Italians in the arts and culture sectors in the Big Apple was particularly high. From the week of the Italian language to the world, to the UN sponsored repatriation of stolen artworks; from a new Jewish museum in Italy presented at Columbia University, to Venetian classical art exhibited at the Frick Collection. This edition of Italy on Screen Today consisted of the participation of two Italian giants of cinema: actor, director, and Oscar Award winner Sergio Castellitto and director of photography, Vittorio Storaro: during the evening hosted by the model and actress Eleonora Pieroni, they both received the “Nino Manfredi Art Excellence Award” and the “Wind of Europe International Award” respectively.
