Santiago de Chile. The 2018-2020 Executive Protocol for Scientific and Technological Cooperation Italy-Chile was signed in Santiago de Chile with the aim to re-launch relations between the two countries in the framework of the Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreement signed in Rome on 16 October 2007. Four bilateral projects will be funded – one in design and architecture, one in geothermal energy and two in volcanology. The Italian Ambassador to Chile, Marco Ricci signed the document on behalf of Italy and the executive director of the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research of Chile (Conicyt), Christian Nicolai signed on behalf of Chile. The funding scheme envisaged for the four projects attached to the PE is that of scientific mobility, which provides coverage for travel and accommodation costs of researchers moving between laboratories in the two countries. The Executive Programme will be put into action starting January 1st, 2018 until December 31st, 2020. (9colonne)
