Two important international awards for Liborio Parrino, Professor of Neurology at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma, Director of the University’s Sleep Medicine Centre and Medical Director of Neurology of the University Hospital of Parma. Professeor Parrino was awarded the Distinguished Activity Award World Sleep Society for initiatives carried out in Italy during the World Sleep Day 2016, and the Distinguished Services Award, for his dedication to promoting sleep medicine in the world. To crown these awards, the University of Parma’s Sleep Medicine Centre will host the annual assembly of the 31 Presidents of the European National Scientific Societies of Sleep (ANSS): May 4th and 5th, 2018. The Parma Sleep Centre is part of the European Network of Sleep Research Laboratories, and represents a reference point for the study of sleep microstructure, with visits by researchers and teachers from all over the world.
