Warsaw. “Poems in the city” returns to Warsaw in April featuring the Italian poet, Renato Gabriele for European poetry. Over 100,000 poems in over 200 locations in April will be available for free in Warsaw. According to the Italian Institute of Culture of Warsaw, it s probably the largest initiative to promote poetry in Europe. The organisers of the event do not want to persuade readers and to make poetry accessible to everyone. For this reason, they used slogans and the mass promotion of products and services to reach consumers. The event is organised by EUNIC Warsaw, the Association of Cultural Institutes of European Union countries, with the support of the City of Warsaw. Gabriele is a writer, poet, and essayist. He has published numerous articles in books and journals. He is a lecturer and performer, who has carried out several hundred public poetry readings, both in Italy and abroad, particularly in Poland.
