(26 April 2018) The Italian Ambassador to the USA, Armando Varricchio, has concluded a visit to the city of New Orleans in Louisiana for the 300th anniversary of the foundation of the city upon invitation of Mayor Mitch Landrieu. As mentioned in an editorial published in the Times-Picayune, the profound historical, economic, cultural, and social ties between New Orleans and Italy were remembered – which left a profound mark on the city and its inhabitants. During his visit, Ambassador Varricchio met with the Mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, and the Governor of the State of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards. (9Colonne)
