Sofia. The Contrast Gallery in Sofia inaugurates Ennio Calabria’s solo exhibition on May 17th. Calabria – an exponent of European figurativism – is a conceptual painter who works with colour and signs as a means of empathic and elective communication. Organised in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture of Sofia, the exhibition will give the public the opportunity to learn about the works of the Italian artist known for his portraits of emblematic figures such as the Pope and for his social commitment. Calabria is an exponent of European figurativism. He has worked as an illustrator of short stories, book covers, poetry works, and posters. (9colonne)
