Buenos Aires. The fifth edition of La Semana de Cine Italiano will take place from June 7th to 13th in Buenos Aires. The an event organized by Filmitalia of Istituto Luce Cinecittà in collaboration with Argentine film distributors. Over the years, La Semana de Cine Italiano has chosen to work with local distributions, which suffer and reflect – especially in the marketing sector – the crisis in certain areas of the South American continent. For this reason, seven out of the ten of films that will be presented already have Argentine distributors, who take advantage of this initiative to necessary cost cuts costs for the release of films in movie theatres, such as Spanish subtitles and a press office. The programme will take place at Cine Village Recoleta, in the homonymous district, the most sensitive to the social and cultural life of the metropolis. The event will be inaugurated with Paolo Genovese’s ‘The Place’. This year’s Semana del Cine Italiano doubles with a programme selection that will also be shared with Santiago de Chile. (9colonne)
