Helsinki. The Italian poet Eugenio Montale (1896-1981) received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1975. He is considered one of the greatest Italian poets of the Twentieth Century. In Finland, the anthology published by Kustannusliike Parkko with translations by Hannimari Heino focuses on Montale’s the first four collections: Ossi di seppia (1925) (Cuttlefish Bones), Le occasioni (1939), La bufera e altro (1956), Satura (1971), but also includes poems published after 1971. Hannimari Heino and the publisher of the book, poet Tommi Parkko, will be the protagonists of an event on August 26th at the Winter garden of Talvipuutarha, in Helsinki, on the work of Montale. The actor Davide Giovanzana will read a selection of original Montale poems, while Heino will read them in Finnish. The event was organised in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Helsinki. (9colonne)
