Gulbene. The Italian Ambassador to Latvia, Sebastiano Fulci, visited the town of Gulbene, where he participated in the presentation of the new edition of the novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, “Gattopardo”. The Ambassador was received by the Mayor of the Municipality of Gulbene, Normunds Audzišs and both held the inaugural speech at the Town Festival. In addition, the Ambassador participated in the inauguration of the historic narrow-gauge steam train route and visited the Stameriena Palace, where the Sicilian writer from Lampedusa lived and found inspiration for his novel.
