Dschang. The Medical Experience-MEDEX project organised by Italian and Cameroonian medical students of the University of Parma was held in August. The project, co-funded by the University of Parma, involves the participation of Italian medical students, accompanied by their Cameroonian colleagues and Cameroonian doctors, in a screening campaign for cardiovascular diseases in Dschang and in satellite villages. Twelve students left Parma on August 1st and joined twelve students from the University of Dschang in Cameroon, who collaborated on the project. During the mission, in addition to the activities planned for screening and internship in hospitals in the region, the young students met the authorities of the municipalities involved and participated in various cultural festivals in order to get to know the local culture. The large group of Italian and Cameroonian students also took part in a party with the children of the orphanages, who were donated scholastic material. The mission ended on August 23rd. (9Colonne)
