New York – Kairos Italy Theatre and KIT Italia present the seventh edition of “In Scena! Italian Theatre Festival NY” the Italian theatre festival that takes place in the five boroughs of New York, from April 29 to May 13, 2019. Among the places hosting it are: Cherry Lane Theatre, Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo at NYU, Bernie Wohl Center, Italian Cultural Institute, The Brick, BAAD!, College of Staten Island. “In Scena!” also presents the 6th edition of the Mario Fratti Award, awarded each year to an Italian theatrical author’s script that was never staged. Every year “In Scena!” presents a review of Italian theatre consisting of shows that have already circulated in Italy and reading texts in translation, conferences, meetings, and exchanges between Italian and international artists. The aim is to promote Italian theatre and artists to the New York public, and to build a bridge between the artistic scene in Italy and New York. The first edition of “In Scena!” was held in 2013, “Year of Italian culture in the United States”. Since then, the festival has become a highly anticipated annual event. (9Colonne)
