Sarajevo – The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo informs that the annual commemoration of the three Italian journalists of RAI in Trieste, Dario D’Angelo, Marco Luchetta, and Alessandro Ota will take place in Mostar on Monday. They were killed by the explosion of a grenade on January 28 in 1994 reporting on child victims of the war. To commemorate the sacrifice of the three reporters, who by shielding their bodies with the shrapnel of the grenade miraculously saved the lives of the children they were interviewing; on Monday at 10:30 am, Ambassador Minasi will depose a crown of flowers before the plaque placed in their memories at the site of the killing, in Brace Fejica 82a. Children from the orphanage “Dječiji dom Mostar” will lay a rose next to the crown. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the death of journalists, the commemoration will take place simultaneously in Trieste, the city from which the three came and where the “Luchetta Ota D’Angelo Hrovatin Foundation” was established following the events of Mostar to ensure the necessary care for children wounded in war or those suffering from untreatable diseases in their countries of origin.
