Oslo – The Italian Institute of Culture in Oslo will present a cultural event based on the history of Terracina on Monday March 25th at 18:30. The speaker, Paul Hedlund, will focus on the troubled past of the town halfway between Rome and Naples, which has always been the border between north and south, between popes and generals, between enemies and friends. Through occupations, enemy attacks, and tyrannical feudal lords, both the Volsci and the Etruscans, Arabs, Goths, Normans, and the Franks have knocked on the doors of Terraccina. Paul Hedlund has been traveling for over 20 years in Italy, has a vacation home in Terracina, and since his first visit in 1996, has been particularly interested in its history, emphasizing its ability to preserve itself and maintain its characteristics while remaining an independent town. The presentation will take place in Norwegian. (9Colonne)
