(Feb. 2) – In the first nine months of 2011, exports of Tuscan products in Brazil grew by 42%. And it is just the beginning. This figures has been presented by Stefano Giovanelli, director of Italian regional agency for trade promotion Toscana Promozione, who will lead a mission in Brazil from 21 to 25 May. Brazil is a 100 million people market, a country with a 583 billion dollars development plan for the 2010-2014 and new infrastructures, mostly for the forthcoming 2014 Football World Cup and the 2016 Olimpyc Games. The membership of the mission is open until February 14 (apply at www.toscanapromozione.it). According to the director Giovannelli, it is “a great opportunity for our companies, both traditional, as furnishing, engineering, building, and hi-tech”. As remarked by Gianfranco Simoncini, Regional Councillor for Productive Activities, Employment and training, Tuscany will dedicate to Brazil a specific project with a 700 thousand euros investment and twenty different initiatives, counting on the good relations between the two countries. “We have to remember the thousands of Tuscans in the world living in South America,” added Simoncini. “In this plan we have included actions to support different areas of the Brazilian market, such as engineering, fashion, boating, biotechnology, nanotechnology and new materials”.
