(Feb 23) – The dream of the Olympics 2020 in Rome has vanished, and Italy bets again on sports and development cooperation. The Belpaese will support Democratic Republic of Congo in the preparation of the eleventh African Games, to be held in Brazzaville in 2015.
So ensured the Italian Ambassador to Congo, Nicolò Tassoni Este, after a meeting with Congolese Minister of Sport, Leon Alfred Opimbat. The Minister briefed the Italian diplomat about projects related to the organization of the Games and urged Italy to intervene in the construction and renovation of infrastructures, as well as to share technical and management experiences.
Tassoni said he was honoured for this encouragement and he assured that he will explore all the grounds to help the Congolese government with the organization and good success of this Pan-African meeting. (Ram)
