(Mar. 1) – Italian firms bet on the Indonesian market with the support of ICE, the Italian Institute for foreign trade. It was held today in Jakarta, at the Hotel Shangri-la, the second stage of the travelling seminar-workshop focused on technology for plastics industry, with protagonists six Italian companies. The third and final stage will take place in Kuala Lumpur on March 5th, at the Shah Alam Technology Centre in the state of Selangor, 25 km from Kuala Lumpur, with a section dedicated to Italian technology and equipped with Italian machinery. The first stage of the project promoted by ICE was held in Bangkok a few days ago, on February 27th, at the presence of about 50 Thai operators. The seminar offers to the Italian companies participating an opportunity to present their products to local operators selected by ICE. (Red/Peg)
COLLABORATION BETWEEN ICE AND ASSOCOMAPLAST
The initiative was made possible thanks to joint work of ICE and Assocomaplast, the association of Italian machinery manufacturers for the plastics industry. The Ice has already fostered promotional activities in Southeast Asian countries in the past, to accompany the companies in their internationalization process in the area. As example, in Malaysia has been funded a training centre for technicians, all equipped with Italian machinery, and then acquired by the Malaysian government after a few years. This allowed to create a network of potential partners and users of machinery for plastics who understand the excellent value of Italian machineries. The initiative represents another step towards rooting of Italian companies in distant markets but with interesting growth rates, as the +3.8% in Thailand, +6.5% in Indonesia, and the estimated +5.2% of Malaysia.
