(Mar. 26) – The destruction of the Mostar bridge, happened on November 9, 1993, during the battle for control of the city, is the emblem of the consequences of the ethnic and religious hatred of former Yugoslavia. In 2004 the bridge was rebuilt, as a sign of the new peaceful coexistence. The International Fair of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s main trade fair, to be held from tomorrow and until March 31, epitomizes the desire for rebirth of the city and the entire country. The Fair is one of the most important economic events in the Balkans: 27,000 square meters of exhibition space, over 40,000 annual visitors and 450 exhibitors from 30 countries. And Italy won’t miss the initiative: the ICE (Italian Trade Promotion Agency) will be present with an institutional stand. The initiative will provide an opportunity to present to Bosnian companies and institutions a project financed with funds from the Act 84/01, which regulates the Italian participation to stabilization, reconstruction and development of the Balkan countries. Bosnia-Herzegovina, due to the ongoing structural reforms, is an ideal destination for investments and industrial cooperation, and interesting business opportunities also arise from the different projects funded by the European Union and international bodies.
