(Apr. 10) – The Italian publishing industry will be protagonist in London from April 16 to 18. The Institute for Foreign Trade, in collaboration with the Italian Publishers Association, has organized the Italian participation at the London Book Fair, which will take place at the Earls Court Exhibition Center. This is the biggest event of the English publishing industry, a growing market thanks to the international rights exchange. The initiative aims to promote the Italian publishing industry, allowing publishers to acquire new contacts, conclude sales, launch distribution partnership agreements. The 2012 edition will host 23 Italian publishing houses and organizations in a joint stand of about 130 square meters, that will serve as a show floor on Italian publishing and a meeting place between Italian and foreign publishers. In 2011 the fair hosted 24,800 visitors, of which 44% were foreigners, and more than 700 press agencies. The Fair is the world’s second most important after the Frankfurt Book Fair. (Roc/Peg)
