Oct. 3 – Music for Wilder Mann is Teho Teardo’s new live project and it will go on scene on Oct. 17 in Rome’s Auditorium. Teardo, musician and soundtrack composer for films and documentaries, offers an inedited musical opera, inspired by Charles Fréger’s photographs of “Wilder Mann” (wild man). After Rome’s opening show, the project will be presented at the 2013 Paris Biennale. Teardo’s music draws upon other arts in a manner that is captivating. Past experiences have brought him to write the soundtrack for various movies, including Diaz, Il Gioiellino, L’Amico di Famiglia, La ragazza del lago, Denti and the La Nava Dolce documentary. This time, the challenge is to synchronize the music with Fréger’s photographs. Both artists focus on the research for the Wild Man: a man who aspires the truth and the primitive forms of humanity, desperately trying not to succumb to the numbing effects of modern technologies. Fréger’s photographs force the everyday man to become a wild creature, by covering himself in the skin of bears, wild pigs, devils and monsters. The intent is to rediscover the ancestral instincts, which haunted man’s early days of civilization.
