Oct. 8 – Mipcom 2012 debuts today in Cannes, at the Palais du Festivale, and will be running until October 11. The annual autumn edition of MIP, combined with its spring twin, MIPTV, represents the most important TV fair in the world. In fact, contents may vary: from audiovisual effects, to films, to traditional TV programs, and those for new platforms, such as web TV and IPTV, alongside 3D and 4D technologies. Participants mainly belong to the broadcaster, producer, and distribution sectors, though the home video, Internet, mobile, licensing and merchandising companies will also attend. ICE – the Italian agency for promoting Italian business and its internationalization abroad – in collaboration with APT (TV Producers Association), has encouraged 30 companies to participate in the event. They will have at their disposal 85 square meters of stands and presentation areas inside the Riviera Padillion. “To participate in this event brings an important understanding of future technological trends, which can be selected and studied carefully in the numerous conferences held during the fair” says a note by ICE.
