Oct. 16 – On the Sighignola Peal, better known as the Balcony on Italy, it will be possible to admire the beautiful sceneries of the new landscape configuration. On the Swiss side, where lay the foundations of a never completed cableway, a new viewpoint terrace is finally completed, while on the border, the area is now equipped to host children and barbecue groups. Soon, the Italian counterpart will also be ready, as a new handrail will replace the one constructed by Touring Club Italiano in the 1950s. The project belongs to the Swiss architect Matteo Huber, and it is worth approximately €1.2 million – finance by Canton Ticino and the City of Arogno. Italy invested via the Lombardia Region, the Montana Lario Intelvese Community, and the City of Lanzo d’Intelvi. The FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano also contributed significantly.
