Oct. 18 – The very ambitious project “An Infernal Marathon. Traveling with Dante” is a collaboration between the General Headquarters of the Dante Alighieri Society and ARCUS SPA. It consists in an illustration of the Divine Comedy through photographs of contemporary Italy. The Italian Cultural Center and the Paris Committee of the Dante Alighieri society came together to honor the 12th International Week of the Italian Language – their project includes passages from the 34 cantos of Dante’s Inferno, accompanied by suggestive photographs. The whole is put together by Lamberto Lambertini, co-creator of the project with Paolo Peluffo, and projected at the Cultural Center’s Parisian halls, at Hotel de Galliffet – 73, Rue de Grenelle. The project aims at rereading Dante’s masterpiece from a more contemporary perspective, by associating the words with the most suggestive images of Italy’s rich historical and cultural background. The final result is the promotion of both Dante’s language and the marvelous places evoked by his verses.
