Nov. 19 – It’s a shame not to have been at the event organized by Assopiemonte DOP & IGP for the important food and wine companies in Poland. DOP Piedmont cheeses – 6 types in total – are an envy for the rest of the world, an, in the halls of the historic and beautiful Hotel Le Regina of Warsaw, the most influential journalists, opinion leaders and traders were able to sample Bra, in its sweet and hard variants, Castelmagno, Toma Piemontese, Murazzano, Robiola of Roccaverano and Raschera. These were accompanied by salami and wines from Piedmont (Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera). The event was organized by Assopiemonte DOP & IGP (the association representing the
6 Consortiums of these cheeses), IMA Piedmont and Gest Cooper. The Italian Ambassador in Poland, Riccardo Guariglia, also attended. In the first part of the meeting, a seminar was held, coordinated by TasteItaly and led by journalist Wojtek Bonkowski and Marco Ghia (expert and lover of Italian food and wine), in which the aforementioned wine and cheeses were offered. More than 50 food and wine experts from Poland participated in the second half of the event, meeting direcly with representatives of the major DOP cheese Consortia, who illustrated and commented on the main features of their products.
