Nov. 20 – Enel Green Power, through its subsidiary Enel Green Power International BV, signed with the Danish government’s Export Credit Agency (EKF) and Citigroup, the latter as “agent” and “arranger”, a loan agreement for a period of 12 years for an amount of € 110 million, to be guaranteed by Enel Green Power. The funding will be used to cover part of the investment in wind facilities at EGP Talinay, in Chile, which has an installed capacity of 90 MW. The total value of investment in the construction of the plant is approximately $165 million. EKF enters the picture thanks to its historical support to Danish components producing companies, which EGP has used for the construction and development of the system. The funding – the third concluded by EGP with EKF since October of last year, for a total exposure of about € 400 million – is characterized by an interest rate in line with market benchmarks. Enel Green Power’s development strategy is based on the funding of projects with cash flows, in combination with external sources only when they are long-term cost-competitive and reliable partners.
