Nov. 23 – The love story between Ferrari and China reaches its 20th anniversary, just as a fan base of 250,000 takes to the streets of Guangzhou (in the south of the country) to partake in the celebrations. Luca di Montezemolo organized a broad media campaign to mark the anniversary: “This is a beautiful day of celebration – said Montezemolo – with fans, young people, and a city filled with Ferrari flags. The best example of what our firm represents in China – not only for the commercial aspect but also for the passion and enthusiasm that the Chinese constantly show towards our brand.” The celebrations began with the parade of 150 different Ferraris, the largest ever held in China. A huge wave of enthusiasm overtook the public at the sight of the vehicles. The parade can be called unique thanks to the presence of a Ferrari 458 Italy, produced in limited series to celebrate this anniversary and marked by typical Chinese elements and painted in the color ” Marco Polo Red.” The cars crossed the city from Ferrari’s showroom to the stage of Haixinsha, home of the Asian Games in 2010, where 18,000 people filled the stadium to its maximum capacity. The concluding show exhibited the 458 GT2 – the winner of the Endurance World Championship thanks to Gianmaria Bruni’s driving skills. The party then continued with the lighting of the city’s landmark, the Tower of Canton, colored red for the occasion while 500 VIPs took part in the final gala.
