Jan. 18 – Italian cinema puts forth Giorgio Diritti’s film “There will come a day”for the Sundance Film Festival, with Jasmine Trinca’s features on the silver screen. Diritti’s new will be presented today to the international press in Park City, Utah. “”There will come a day” is competing in the “World Cinema Dramatic Competition” and will be screened in world premiere on Monday, January 21. The film will be released in Italian cinemas on March 28, (BIM distribution). The film was shot between the Brazilian Amazon and Trentino; it stars Jasmine Trinca, Anne Alvaro, Pia Engleberth, Sonia Gessner, Amanda Fonseca Galvao, Paulo De Souza, Eder Frota Dos Santos and Manuela Mendonça Marinho. “Years ago I did some television and a documentary in the Amazon – explains Diritti – and the experience was overwhelming for the stunning beauty of nature, the perception of time, the simplicity and kindness of the people. All this in a scenario which brings out the primal force of life, it makes you question man’s purpose on Earth and investigate the meaning of life, what is beyond it and the relationship with what is different. It is a transcendent experience. During my first trip there – adds the director from Bologna – I encountered many Europeans who decided to settle in the region. Among the many people I met, the person who fascinated me the most was an Italian missionary, Augusto Gianola, from PIME, who lived in the area for over thirty years. He is a man in search of God, a priest who took off his pastoral role to step into a sharing experience with simple and humble people. His biography, his letters and the direct experience of meeting other people in the Amazon are the opening words of this film.” The film is produced by Lionello Cerri, Giorgio Free, Simone Bachini in collaboration with Valerio De Paolis. It is a coproduction between Italy and France Aranciafilm, Lumiere & Co, Groupe Deux, in association with Wild Bunch, and Rai Cinema.
