Jan. 30 – Francesco Baccini’s new tour with the Broadway Contemporary Dance Fusion, one of the most important and accredited contemporary dance companies in the world, began a few days ago in New York and sees three chorepgraphies to Baccini’s music, including the new “Dancing on Saturn.” The songs were recorded for the occasion in a “piano solo” by the same songwriter who is today both composer and pianist. The other two songs chosen by choreographer Mark Josue, the founder of the company, are: “Who knows who I am”, an instrumental version of a 2001 song that, stripped of the words, brings out the fullness of his melodic line so as to make it almost unrecognizable; and “Lunatika,” the last song on Baccini’s successful album” Baccini sings Tenco,” which gave the singer the the Targa Tenco 2012 award. The tour of the Broadway Contemporary Dance Fusion touches New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Manchester, Istanbul, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo and Dublin. Among the other songs chosen for the tour there are compositions by Sonny Rollins, Yiruma, Damien Rice, Michael Nyman, David Keller, Alexandre Desplat and the Cinematic Orchestra.
