Feb. 22 – According to Unioncamere, there are more than 70,000 Italian companies whose products and business strategies would be ready export their activities, however have not yet decided to take the road of internationalization. If you’re one of these companies, then World Pass is for you. It represents the 150 new branches specializing in business internationalization within Italian Chambers of Commerce. The idea was presented by the Minister of Economic Development, Corrado Passera, and the President of Unioncamere, Ferruccio Dardanello.
“World Pass is a tool to bring together knowledge and skills in this field,” said Dardanello. “There are over six million companies registered with the Chambers of Commerce, more than 200 000 of these operate in the international arena, and among them 12 000 deal with foreign countries on a regular basis.” Dardanello also states that according to estimates “in Italy there are 75,000 potential operators that have the necessary qualifications to address the global challenge” and World Pass can be a useful opportunity to “bring out” their desire to internationalize. Finally, the president of Unioncamere wanted to focus on the size of the project, “which required a six months job, since 300 people had to be trained.” The Minister for Economic Development Corrado Passera adds “exports are now fundamental for Italy as they express that part of our economy that continues to grow even in face of the crisis and a strong currency.” According to the Minister, “exports are Italy’s most competitive feature, and in no way should we assume that our country is destined to decline or slow growth.”
