Feb. 27 – The cultural routes of the European “Tech-Tour, Technology and Tourism: augmented reality for the promotion of the Roman and Byzantine routes” project are funded by the Directorate General Enterprise of the European Commission, which aims to promote two European routes by applying ICT technologies: the “Path to Rome” ITER Romanum and Via Annia from Italy, through Slovenia and Croatia to end Serbia; and the “Byzantine path” along the coasts of Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. Tech-Tour lasts 12 months and sees Unioncamere Veneto-Eurosportello take the lead to promote the two transnational routes on the basis of common cultural and historical heritage. The ultimate goal is to strengthen European identity by promoting intercultural dialogue between its members and the candidate countries and other potential candidates, and enhance the tourism potential of the sites along the route by promoting tourism-related services with the application of new information technologies ICT.
