Dec. 27 – A new collaborations with two Chinese universities bring further overseas opportunities for UNIMC students and the broader Italian Studies Center project. These two are the main results of the University of Macerata’s participation in the 7th Conference of Confucius Institutes, which took place a few days ago in Beijing, and in which more than 2000 university representatives of 108 countries gathered to develop a broader development of Confucius Institutes worldwide. The Dean, Luigi Lacchè, accompanied by two directors of the Confucius Institute in Macerata, Giorgio Trentin and Yan Chunyou as well as Tommaso Pellin, UNIMC researcher and member of the board of directors of the Institute, were able to meet with the Vice-Minister of Education and Hanban’s Director General Xu Lin. The latter has been invited, along with other leaders, to visit the University of Macerata. At the Conference of Dean of Universities, with participants from Berkeley to Stanford just to name a few, Lacchè placed emphasis on the three pillars of the Institute of Macerata: training, collaboration with schools, and relationships with the surrounding territories and firms.
