Mar. 5 – After a third place finish in 2011 and a second in 2012, Luca Casadei, an instructor at Segafredo Zanetti France, became Best Barista in France for 2013. In this perfect ascent, Luca based his success on his great passion for coffee and talent, plus the team of experts at Segafredo, whom one can always rely on. This title will allow him to compete with the best international bartenders for the World Championship, held in Melbourne in May. The National Championship of Coffee, organized by France SCAE (Speciality Coffee of Europe), was held during SIRHA, the international trade fair for food and the hospitality industry, in Lyon in January. The tournament brought together professionals who make preparing high-quality coffee an art, an approach that Segafredo Zanetti France, a member of the association, fully shares. The tournament was divided into four categories, including one for Best Bartender. During a 15 minutes test, 7 judges (national and international) evaluated the preparation of 4 espressos, 4 cappuccinos and 4 coffee drinks created by the participants. Luca won with his professionalism, his technical skills and passion for exceptional coffee, coming from Costa Rica.
