Mar 21. – The agreement on academic collaboration between the University of Padua and the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme d’Aquitaine was signed yesterday in the presence of prof. Alessandro Martin, Vice Dean for international relations with foreign universitie, and the director of the French university, Christophe Bouneau. This is a Memorandum of Understanding that aims at creating an institutional dialogue to promote the launch of individual research cooperation projects. The research and teaching programs carried out by the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme are characterized not only by a concrete dialogue between local and international dimensions, but also by a strong interdisciplinary momentum, weaving methods, interests and research objectives in all humanities and social sciences. The agreement was negotiated by both parties while bearing in mind the possibility of involving all humanities and social sciences departments at the University of Padua. This agreement places the University of Padua as a scientific partner in the réseau of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, coordinated by the homonymous foundation based in Paris. Thus, with this agreement, the concerned departments of the University of Padova become qualified to present their projects to any of the other Maisons, if their orientation be more in line with Padova’s necessities. This opens an opportunity for the preparation of international projects in the social sciences and humanities whose funding can be both at the national and European level.
